Attendance
El Rodeo Elementary School and the Beverly Hills Unified School District strongly encourage students to attend school regularly and make every effort to schedule medical or other appointments outside of school hours. Families are also encouraged to plan travel or avoid absences during times when school is in session. Regular attendance is vital for engaging in valuable instruction and supporting academic growth.
If your child is absent, please follow these procedures:
-
Reporting Absences:

- Include the following details in your email:

Automated Absence Messages:
- Parents or guardians will receive an automated message on the day of a reported absence.

-
Reporting Deadlines:
- All absences must be reported within three days of the student’s return to school.
- Any absence not reported within this time frame will be considered unexcused.
-
Chronic Absenteeism:
- Students who miss 18 or more days (10% of the 180-day school year), including excused and unexcused absences, are identified as Chronically Absent.
- Chronic Absenteeism is reported on the California Department of Education Dashboard and negatively impacts academic achievement and student engagement.
Regular attendance is key to student success, and we appreciate your cooperation in ensuring your child benefits from consistent learning opportunities at El Rodeo Elementary School.
