First Grade Philosophy

 

Our educational philosophy reflects the mission statement of the BHUSD. Our first grade team believes that every child can learn and be successful at school. We believe that active learning is important for children to construct their own knowledge in a developmentally appropriate environment so they can establish ownership of their learning and build self-confidence. Our classrooms also encourage problem solving and critical thinking skills. We strive to continually meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of all children. We believe in developing positive relationships with our El Rodeo families and encourage them to take an active role in their child's education.
