First Grade Philosophy
Our educational philosophy reflects the mission statement of the BHUSD. Our first grade team believes that every child can learn and be successful at school. We believe active learning is important for children to construct their own knowledge in a developmentally appropriate environment so they establish ownership of their learning and build self-confidence. Our classrooms also encourage problem solving and critical thinking skills. We strive to continually meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of all children. We believe in developing positive relationships with our El Rodeo families and we encourage them to take an active role in their child’s education. We welcome you to visit El Rodeo School and our first grade classrooms!
