The Garden committee with the extraordinary support and assistance from PTA and wonderful parent volunteers, work with elementary grade teachers and their classes to plant and harvest vegetables in El Rodeo’s Green Community Garden. The students learn about what makes a “green” garden and how important gardens are to our community. The classes get to plant seeds and seedlings and over a period of a few months get to watch the plants grow and mature into full grown vegetables. During harvest time, the classes get to pick , wash, and deliciously munch on their bounty. Some classes just come out to the garden to sit and work quietly in the serene environment.
